Digital Kids

In the world today, kids probably do not know what a book is or this place called the library, but I can guarantee you that they can navigate the internet, internet phone services, communication sites, and the computer in general like it's nobody's business. I am talking about kids that are younger than 6 years. I realize that I am starting to show my age but the fact is that some of this technology cannot replace certain things. I cannot tell you how many times I was trying to have a conversation where the other person had to check their phone, sometimes without even saying a word. Needless to say, I usually end up talking to the other person's forehead as they click away on that smartphone. It usually feels like they are done talking yet I never got a warning besides just being blatantly ignored. What are your thoughts on the technology today?
